Code of Conduct

Expected behaviour for attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers at events using EventOS.

Importance

EventOS believes everyone should feel welcome and safe at events. This Code of Conduct sets expectations for people participating in events that use EventOS tooling. Organizers may publish additional event-specific rules; where those are stricter, they also apply.

All attendees, sponsors, speakers, volunteers, and staff are expected to follow this Code. Violations will not be tolerated.

Expected behaviour

  1. Create a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
  2. Do not engage in disruptive behaviour or speech, or otherwise interfere with the event or others’ participation.
  3. Do not harass anyone based on gender, gender identity and expression, race, age, sexual orientation, physical appearance, disability, body size, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. Harassment includes offensive, threatening, or discriminatory behaviour, speech, or visuals.
  4. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate in talks, workshops, parties, or related online channels for the event.
  5. Sponsors should not use sexualised images, activities, or materials. Booth staff and volunteers should not use sexualised clothing or create a sexualised environment.
  6. Comply with instructions from event organizers and staff.
  7. Comply with all applicable laws.

Consequences

  1. Participants who engage in misconduct may be sanctioned or expelled from the event without a refund, at the organizer’s discretion. Entry may also be denied.
  2. Expulsion may result in disqualification from future events run by the same organizer.
  3. Organizers may involve local law enforcement when appropriate.
  4. If you are being harassed, notice someone else being harassed, or have other concerns, contact an organizer immediately (often identifiable by staff badges or branded clothing).

Platform use

Organizers using EventOS remain responsible for enforcing conduct at their events. EventOS may suspend Platform accounts that repeatedly host or facilitate abusive or unlawful activity in violation of our Terms of Service.
